Card Fraud Alerts

Enjoy peace of mind and enhanced security of your accounts with the ability to quickly confirm or deny suspicious card transactions through real-time alerts.

Cardinal Bank has always provided alerts for potential unauthorized CheckCard and Credit Card transactions via telephone call. Now, these alerts are also available with text and email alerts.

How It Works

If we send you an alert, simply let us know whether or not the transaction on your CheckCard or Credit Card was authorized by you.

  • With Card Fraud Alerts via text1, you can respond YES if the transaction is authorized or NO if it is not. If you respond NO, your card will be blocked to protect your account. If you respond YES, you will be able to run your transactions 5-10 minutes after you submit your response.  
  • If you miss our text, we'll call you or send you an email. Simply follow the instructions you receive to let us know if the transaction is authorized.

To Receive Text and Email Alerts

To ensure you receive Card Fraud Alerts, provide us with your current cell phone number and email address. Simply call us at 703.584.3400, option 2, visit a Banking Office near you, or send us a secure email within Online Banking
