6 We may provide you with provisional credit if you suspect there is an error or unauthroized activity on your account. Call us at 703-584-3400 or 1-800-473-3247, or write us at 8270 Greensboro Drive, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102 as soon as you can if you think your statement is wrong or if you need more information about a transfer listed on the statement. We must hear from you no later than sixty (60) days after we sent the FIRST statement on which the problem or error appeared. Your request to research the transaction must include your name and account number, the error or the transfer you are unsure about, and explain as clearly as you can why you believe it is an error or why you need more information and the dollar amount of the suspected error. If you tell us orally, we may require that you send us your complaint or question in writing within ten (10) business days. We will tell you the results of our investigation within 10 business days after we hear from you and we will correct any error promptly. If we need more time, however, we may take up to forty five (45) days to investigate your complaint or question. If we decide to do this, we will provisionally credit your account within ten (10) business days for the amount you think is in error so that you will have the use of the money during the time it takes us to complete our investigation. If we ask you to put your complaint or question in writing and we do not receive it within ten (10) business days, we may not provisionally credit your account. If we decide that there was no error, we will send you a written explanation of our findings within three (3) business days after we finish our investigation. At the same time, we will debit your account for any funds temporarily advanced to you. We can provide copies of the documents that we used in our investigation upon request.
7 A Qualifying Purchase is any signature-based purchase, Internet purchase, phone or mail order purchase, bill payment, contactless purchase (purchases made by holding your Visa card or other device up to a secure reader instead of swiping your card), or small dollar purchase for which you are not required to sign, made with an enrolled Visa card, which is processed or submitted through the Visa U.S.A. Inc. payment system. A Qualifying Purchase does not include a purchase made using a Personal Identification Number (PIN) or purchase you initiate through identification technology that substitutes for a PIN.
