Are Cardinal Bank deposit accounts FDIC insured?
Yes! Each individual customer at Cardinal Bank is insured by the FDIC up to $100,000. Any deposit accounts maintained by a depositor at one insured depository institution are insured separately from, and without regard to, any deposit accounts that the same depositor maintains at any other separately chartered and insured depository institution, even if two or more separately chartered and insured depository institutions are affiliated through common ownership.

How do I set up Direct Deposit of my payroll check?
After your Cardinal Bank checking application has been approved, you will receive Cardinal Bank's routing and transit number and your account number. If your employer participates in a direct deposit program, simply provide this information to the human resources or payroll department at your company, and your direct deposit will usually begin within thirty days.

How do I set up Direct Deposit of my Social Security check?
After your Cardinal Bank checking application has been approved, you will receive Cardinal Bank's routing and transit number and your account number. Simply contact us and have your Social Security Number and account information available to set up your direct deposit right over the phone.

Can I get information about my account by phone?
Yes! You may contact a Customer Service Representative at any branch during normal business hours to receive information about your account. Our 24-hour automated voice system is also available by calling 703.584.3400 or toll-free at 800.473.3247.

What products can I apply for online?

Can businesses have accounts at Cardinal Bank?
Yes! Cardinal Bank offers business loans and deposit products. Please contact us if you would like more information about our business products or services, or would like to apply for a business loan or deposit product.

Does Cardinal Bank offer IRAs online?
Yes! Cardinal Bank currently offers regular IRAs online. To apply today, fill out an online application.

Is interest paid on Cardinal Bank checking accounts?
Yes! We offer several interest checking accounts. See the rate sheet for current interest rates.

Can I open an account if I don't live in the United States? What if I live in the United States but am not a citizen yet?
At this time, we only accept applications from persons residing within the United States with valid U.S. tax identification numbers (Social Security Numbers). If you have questions, contact us. We'd like to hear from you.

Can I do all of my banking with Cardinal Bank?
Yes! Thanks to the convenience of Direct Deposit and ATMs, everyday banking activities can be performed from the comfort of home. Contact us with questions about your banking needs.

Can I view my transactions any time?
Yes! With Online Banking, you have access to your account information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

How frequently is my Cardinal Bank information updated?
Cardinal Bank updates all customer information nightly. Whether you visit a branch, contact our customer service department, or utilize Online Banking, your account information is updated each business day to reflect all account activity.

Are wire transfers possible to and from my Cardinal Bank checking account?
Yes! Funds can be transferred to and from Cardinal Bank accounts by wire transfer or via ACH (Automated Clearing House) debits or credits. Call our customer service department at 703.584.3400 or 800.473.3247 for details.

How do I make a deposit to my account from a remote location?
You can do most of your banking by using direct deposit, ATMs or ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions. Cardinal Bank also offers a bank-by-mail service which allows you to mail non-recurring deposits. Contact us for details on the method that's best for you.

Can I bank by phone?
With Telephone Banking, you can make inquiries on your account balances, transactions and transfer money between your deposit accounts. A Customer Service Representative is also available to assist you between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET Monday through Friday and between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.

You can also access information on all your Cardinal Bank accounts any time of day by calling our automated customer service line at 800.473.3247 or 703.584.3400. Be sure to have your account number(s) handy when you call. The following menu options are available (use a touch-tone keypad):
